The Making of The Chaotic Throne - Interlude

Here's an interview with the developers of the next chapter Lineage II entitled Interlude, the first chapter of the new saga - The Chaotic Throne.

Sub-title by Lineage II North America.

The world's first Multi-Touch Screen

This is really not Lineage II related, but talk about technological advances, upcoming releases, and (re)-inventing stuff like Interlude's new PK, PvP, and Castle Siege systems, this new tech is something worth mentioning on this blog.

The first Multi-Touch Screen in the world. Watch it.. and believe it.

Something familiar? Do I read someone thinking Minority Report? All we need now are people with Premonition and Deja Vu.

Chronicle 6 or not?

If you have been following the news about The Chaotic Throne - Interlude then you might have noticed that people refer to it differently in terms of its position in the list of Lineage II expansions. Some call it Chronicle 6: Interlude, some Chronicle 6: The Chaotic Throne, while some say it is Saga 2: The Chaotic Throne - Interlude.

So which one is accurate?

To set things clear about Lineage II The Chaotic Throne - Interlude, here's the correct order of the free expansions of the game.

  • Saga 1: The Chaotic Chronicle

    • Prelude

    • Chronicle 1: Harbingers of War

    • Chronicle 2: Age of Splendor

    • Chronicle 3: Rise of Darkness

    • Chronicle 4: Scions of Destiny

    • Chronicle 5: Oath of Blood

  • Saga 2: The Chaotic Throne

    • Interlude

    • Throne 1: The Kamael

    • ...

In other words, Interlude and/or The Chaotic Throne is/are not "Chronicle 6". Recent NCsoft Press Releases and interviews helped shed light on where The Chaotic Throne - Interlude fits in the Lineage II MMORPG.

In Lineage II, the highly anticipated MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game), players fight for control over any and every piece of the virtual world they occupy.

Set in a medieval-style fantasy world inhabited by different races of beings, players can enter a stunningly complex game that has attracted a subscriber base of 14 million to date.

The story so far

In a war torn land spanning two continents, trust is a rare commodity as three kingdoms vie for power and betrayal is just another means for survival. Here, the young king Raoul has successfully quenched a civil war and established the newest kingdom of Aden. Trouble brews in the Southern region of the continent, where Elmore, a military superpower expands his territory. Across the ocean, to the West, Gracia is currently embroiled in a chaotic battle among blood relatives who want to assume the throne.

In each of these kingdoms, the delicate balance of power threatens to be upset by internal strife as ambitious personalities become increasingly independent and restless.

This is the story you have been thrust into. Welcome to the chaotic world of Lineage II.

Here, you have the power to seize your own destiny and to rise or fall by your own wit, cunning and skill.

Character building

Far from being an end in itself, creating a character in Lineage II is merely the means for you to impose your will upon this world.

Among all the races, Humans were once considered the weakest; however, they have since cultivated their own destiny to become the most influential of the races. Ever adaptable and persistent, they have a balanced set of capabilities to handle all types of professions. Secondary classes for Humans are Knight, Warrior, Rogue, Cleric, and Wizard.

Elves worship Eva, the goddess of water and have slim features and long ears. They are characterized by their pure and innocent beauty. Once the most powerful of races, they have lost a significant amount of their old power and influence in the world. Now, they reside in the forest regions of Aden. Secondary classes for Elves include Elven Knight, Elven Scout, Elven Wizard, and Elven Oracle.
Dark Elf

On the other hand, Dark Elves follow Shilen, the goddess of death who was the former goddess of water before she fell from grace. After their crushing defeat at the hands of humans, the dark elves began to learn the black arts to gain the power of Gran Kain and Shilen to take revenge on Humans. They are similar in appearance to Elves but are generally taller, with dusky skin and silvery hair. Dark Elves evolve into Palus Knight, Assassin, Dark Wizard, and Shillien Oracle classes.

Orcs, the race of fire, serve the god Pa'agrio. They are the most physically powerful among all the races. They once scored a significant victory against the Elves to claim vast territories but have since been defeated by the Elf-Human alliance and are now living in the arctic territory located in the northern part of the continent. Orc secondary classes consist of Orc Raider, Monk, and Orc Shaman.

The Dwarves are the race of earth. As such, they are renowned and valued for their ability like to create things. They possess strong physical powers and excellent manual dexterity in addition to being considered the “businessmen” of Lineage II. The Dwarf classes are divided into Scavengers, who find and retrieve raw materials, and Artisans, who manufacture products out of raw materials.
